Match Preview
With his team suffering four defeats in five games, question marks are starting to meet Bristol City boss Dean Holden's appointment.
Even if the team appeared above expectations early in his reign, Robins still had the inconsistencies that ultimately led to his previous manager Lee Johnson out of work.
Each of the four reversals took place in the fight against opponents who had to be beaten by Bristol City, the result was made worse by a failure to score a goal.
On the plus side, Holden's outfit remains three points from the playoffs and there is little argument that the home game against Wycombe is the perfect game at this point.
However, despite the window of opportunity for Bristol City, Holden will face strong criticism of club supporters if the player is unable to overcome the bottom half of the division.
Having failed to win in any of their last 10 matches, Gareth Ainsworth will be relieved that Wycombe are nearby to get out of trouble.
Claimed a 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers last time, as a move in the right direction, but the President must soon have another win over the table if he is to remain competitive.
The Christmas and New Years period sees them face three opponents, the others being Cardiff City and Middlesbrough, all of whom participate in the playoff places.
News Team
Striker Famara Deathiou is available again after serving a suspension, but it doesn't appear that Chris Martin is out front.
A change in attack is expected from the original team with Antoine Semenyo, likely to start developing when Dean Holden switches to a 4-3-3 system.
The original team had eight players injured for Wycombe's visit.
Gareth Ainsworth could make a simple pass next to QPR that faces Daryl Horgan on the bench and Matt Bloomfield in the midfielder.
Ryan Tafazolli and Dennis Recovery are almost back and remain hesitant about traveling to Ashton Gate.
Maybe far from the city of Bristol:
Bentley; Vyner, Kalas, Moore; Hunt, Bakinson, Nagy, O'Dowda, Rowe; Diedhiou, Semenyo.
List of the first Wycombe Wanderers players:
Allsopp; Grimmer, Chevalier, McCarthy, Jacobson; Wheeler, Freeman; McCleary, Horgan, Onyedinma; Akinfenwa.
Bristol City vs Wycombe: Prediction
Dean Holden's men lost 1-0 in the match outside of the final day of the game, against Preston. Meanwhile, Garetjh Ainsworth's men were held to a 1-1 draw at home last week, by QPR.
Apart from that, the president was in ten games without a win and they also remained like the previous game. In the process, they also underwent nine matches.
In external play, they have never won their last ten games, and they have also lost these eight.
On the other hand, their colleagues are unbeaten in 12 of their last 17 home appearances and they have also been invasitous at home in h2h encounters since 2001.
Taking these statistics into account, Esteem Bristol will dominate Ashton's doorstep from the start and even to mark an early goal (remember their desperation).
