Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna
Spain – LaLiga
Date: Saturday, 14 December 2019
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano (Madrid).
Only Real Madrid (1) has lost a league match less than Atletico (2) this season, but Simeone side currently seventh in the table after fighting for victory in the opening months of the campaign 2019-20.
Indeed, the capital city giants have won just six of their 16 league games to date, drawing eight times in the process. The goal has become a real concern for the club, meanwhile, with only 16 arrived, which was actually less than Osasuna six heading into this weekend's contest.
Not surprisingly, Atletico boast the best defensive record at this stage with only 10 goals conceded, but a run of just one win in their last six league games have seen them fall seriously off the pace at the top.
Not only the Madrid club eight points of leaders Barca, they are five behind third-placed Sevilla. It seems unthinkable that the Red and White will fail to finish in the top four, although there is no question that they form in the early stages of this season has been disappointing.
Atletico managed to book their place in the last-16 stage of the Champions League on Wednesday, though, as a 2-0 home win over Lokomotiv Moscow proved enough to finish second in the section behind Juventus.
Promoted back to La Liga after winning the Segunda Division last season, Osasuna have made an encouraging start to the 2019-20 campaign, with a total of 23 points from 16 games left them in 10th place in the table.
They have lost only three of their 16 league outings this term, despite eight series has arrived. Just like Atletico, the problem they have not lost a match not taking all three points.
It is well worth remembering that Osasuna finished seventh in La Liga recently 2011-12, while they beat Atletico 3-0 when the two teams locked horns during the 2013-14 campaign.
Atletico has won the last two league clashes between the two sides 3-0, but a form of self Osasuna in the league this season is already very impressive. Indeed, they have suffered two defeats, including one of their last five and beat Espanyol 4-2 in their last away game on 1 December.
Arrasate Jagoba side will also enter this match on the back of an impressive 1-1 draw at home to Sevilla last time out, showing that they are capable of taking points from the larger side in the division.

Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna Prediction
Prediction score: 1-0 Atleti
Atleti put in one of the most assured performances of their season in midweek though they were not really tested at the point with Lokomotiv. It may be a tight match against Osasuna side who really struggled but Los Rojiblancos still create chances and they are due a bit more luck in front of goal. One goal might be enough for them here.
