Besiktas striker Vincent Aboubakar is the top scorer in the squad with 14 goals from his 48 appearances, whilst Clinton N'Jie is another potentially dangerous attacking threat. Lorient striker Benjamin Moukandjo will be hoping to add another goal to his tally after bagging one on Saturday. Joel Matip and Allan Nyom, among others, withdrew themselves from the competition due to disputes over payment.

Guinea Bissau will be turning towards the two most experienced international players in their squad for guidance in their first ever African Cup of Nations campaign. These are midfield duo Zezinho and Bocundji Ca, the former of whom is the leading scorer in the squad with two goals in 20 appearances. Defender Juary Soares will be brimming with confidence after netting the last minute equaliser on Saturday.
