Manchester United vs West Ham
English Football League Cup
Date: Wednesday, 30th November, 2016
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester.

United’s 4-0 win was the largest of Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford so far but it was the performance as much as the result that will inspire supporters.

Slaven Bilic’s side come into the game after a demoralising 3-2 defeat to Tottenham last week and the Hammers are hovering above the relegation zone before their trip to the Theatre of Dreams.

Both sides are in desperate need of the win and, with Old Trafford’s game the first of two clashes between the sides in four days, expect fireworks
Wayne Rooney.

The 31-year-old’s struggled for form so far this term and has only started one Premier League match since being dropped in late September.

However, Rooney’s started in two out of United’s last three matches and he showed against Swansea and Feyenoord that he’s close to recapturing his form.

The England captain came in for huge criticism over a drinking controversy during the international break but he blasted his critics after an emphatic performance in the Europa League.

Rooney scored one and assisted another against Feyenoord and, though he’s not guaranteed to start against West Ham, he would be desperately unlucky not to feature.

Don’t bet against him continuing his revival.

Manchester United vs West Ham: Head to Head Statistics

We already know that games between these two teams are always tough and entertaining just like the Sunday game. Each of the two teams have won just once in their previous 6 games, but have drawn 4 times. The record at Old Trafford have been great for Red Devils with 40 wins, 8 draws and 8 defeats.

Generally, United have won 54 games over Hammers, they have drawn 27 games and lost 32.

Manchester United vs West Ham: Prediction

Having played together on Sunday, the two teams may give in to fatigue. However, the pressure is more on Jose Mourinho with Red Devils having made their worst start to the season since 1990/91. Manchester United have more experience in their team and should come out winners in this one not minding their weekend draw.

We expect the Red Devils to finally lift their game in front of the home fans. However, there is plenty of pressure on both manager and players alike. West Ham are a smart enough team and will be looking to make full use of the situation. So this game will be pretty close to call and as a result it will be a good option to back West Ham to restrict a defeat by not more than 1 goal.
