Leicester v Club Brugge: Champions League preview

Leicester will be hoping to make history on Tuesday night by qualifying for the round of 16 in their debut season.

The Foxes kicked off their European campaign with a 3-0 win in Brugge in the opening match-day and will be hoping for more of the same at the King Power.

A draw would be enough for Leicester to advance to the next round. The Foxes could even lose and still qualify if Copenhagen fail to beat Porto in the other Group G fixture.

Despite that, Claudio Ranieri will no doubt be going for all three points. Leicester are currently on a four-match winless run, following their 2-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday.

Contrasting their form in Europe, the Premier League champions have already lost six times in the league this season and lie 14th in the table.

Brugge have lost all four of their matches in Europe so far this season, conceding 10 goals and scoring just once.

Team news

Ron-Robert Zeiler will continue in goal as Kasper Schmeichel recovers from a hand injury.

Nampalys Mendy’s ankle injury means Daniel Amartey is expected to start alongside Danny Drinkwater in midfield.

Algerian striker Islam Slimani is a doubt for the match, with Ahmed Musa likely to partner Jamie Vardy up front.

There could also be starts for Jeffrey Schlupp and Luis Hernandez as Ranieri rotates his side.

Head To Head

Leicester won the last and only meeting with Club Brugge 3-0 in September.

Leicester vs Club Brugge Stats
