Match preview

Leicester offers a hint of a bright future under Brendan Rodgers in the second half of last season, but sat third heading into the final match of September will exceed the most optimistic expectations of most fans, especially after losing Harry Maguire during the summer.

The Foxes had started a campaign in a very impressive fashion, though, with only Manchester United's new team Maguire cause their defeat in eight of their event in all competitions so far.

Leicester was not even in a good position after six games the title-winning season and, while repeating their heroics look unlikely given the strength of the above, they would get into most of their matches this season as favorite.

That is unlikely to happen when Rodgers returned to Anfield next weekend, but few would have expected them to drop points against Newcastle came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur in their league matches to date.

Leicester then continued their winning ways with a 4-0 thrashing of Luton Town EFL Cup on Tuesday night, after beating Newcastle on penalties in the previous round, keep their first clean sheet since the opening day of the season in the process.

A shutout Premier League will be the next target after conceded exactly one goal in each of their matches since the opening day, and they will fancy their chances to get one at home to be with the league's lowest scorers.
Steve Bruce's side have managed just four goals in their six games - all coming from different players - and draw a blank boring last time when they drew forgotten by Brighton & Hove Albion.

As Leicester, The Magpies also can show the victory over Tottenham as the high point of their season - away from home as well - but it is still only their victory in seven matches in all competitions so far this term and only one point separating them from the relegation zone heading into the weekend ,

The victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should give them the confidence that they can do another upset at the King Power, though, and the shape of Newcastle on the road has actually been better than their home form recently with three away wins from the last six league as they event - as much as they have been successful in their previous 24 before that.

Newcastle also have won on their last two visits to the King Power Stadium and another victory on Sunday would see them become the first visiting team to win three in a row in the stadium in the Premier League.

Indeed, the North-East outfit is only visiting team to win at the ground since Rodgers took over Leicester, and Bruce will no doubt even taking repetitions at 1-1 which lasted two sides to EFL Cup on penalties in the second round last month.

Leicester vs Newcastle United Prediction

With back to back wins on the floor of the house, it goes without saying that the Foxes were a compelling group in front of their fans. On the other hand, Newcastle have just one win to boast of their last three games and lost by a margin of two goals in two of these clashes.

Although bragging rights are swinging for the Magpies in their last two visits here, getting the best of Leicester who are unbeaten at home so far everything seems too Herculean a task for Newcastle retire yet.

In addition, three of their last four meetings for guests in all competitions have seen their enemies violate display the restart. Taking into account that three of the last five goals for Leicester here also seen coming in the last forty-five minutes of play, expect the Foxes to find the back of the net in the second half without fail.
