Spotlight: Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 Rosenborg

• Rosenborg has appeared in the UEFA Champions League group stage 11 times, but not since 2007/08 - their 11th campaign in 13 seasons. Since then, the Norwegian club have qualified in five occasions, including in 2018/19 when they were eliminated by Celtic in the second qualifying round (1-3 a, 0-0 h).

• Rosenborg went on to reach the UEFA Europa League group stage in 2018/19, only to finish below their share after collecting one point from their six matches.

• This is only Rosenborg's second UEFA Champions League play-off - the first to end with an away goal defeat against FC København in 2010/11 (2-1 hours, 0-1 a).

• Eirik Horneland's team started the season in the first qualifying round, eliminating Linfield from Northern Ireland with a 6-0 aggregate (2-0 a, 4-0 h). They then defeated BATE Borisov 3-2 on aggregate in the second qualifying round (1-2 a, 2-0 hours) and Maribor 6-2 in two matches in the next stage (3-1 a, 3-1 hours).

• Therefore Rosenborg won five of their seven UEFA Champions League qualifiers this season - a total of 17 previous matches (D3 L9).

• This is Rosenborg's first home game against the Croatian club.

• The team from Trondheim has won five of 12 UEFA matches in which they lost the first leg away, most recently against BATE in the second qualifying round this season. They have never lost 2-0 in the first game, all five successes came after they overturned a one-goal deficit.

• Rosenborg hasn't taken part in penalties in UEFA competitions.

Dinamo Zagreb

• Dinamo claimed their 13th Croatian league title in 14 seasons in 2018/19 - and 20th overall - but their UEFA Champions League campaign ended at the start with a play-off defeat against Young Boys. Moving to the UEFA Europa League, the Zagreb club finished first in their part before getting better than Viktoria Plzeň in the last 32, resigning after extra time against Benfica in the last 16 (1-0 hours, 0-3 a).

Nenad Bjelica's side started the UEFA Champions League this season in the second qualifying round, easing past Georgia Saburtalo 5-0 in aggregate (2-0 a, 3-0 h) before a 5-1 win over two matches against Ferencváros of Hungary (1 -1 hour, 4-0 a).

• This is Dinamo's seventh UEFA Champions League play-off, with a W4 L2 record. In 2018/19 they were beaten 2-1 by Young Boys in the second leg of the cage after drawing 1-1.

• The defeat of Young Boys was Dinamo's only defeat in 23 of their last UEFA Champions League qualifiers, home and away (W15 D7).

• Dinamo have won five of their last nine European away games (D2 L2).

• The first leg is only Croatia's second club victory in six matches against Norwegian opponents, although they are now unbeaten in their last five matches (W2 D3).

• Dinamo have recorded 18 aggregate wins in 23 UEFA ties in which they have won the first leg at home, even though they lost the most recent, against Benfica in last season's UEFA Europa League last 16, ending a series of 15 wins like that. Dinamo have also won all three ties - and kept a clean sheet of the second leg - where they recorded a 2-0 win in the first leg at home, most recently against Dinamo Tbilisi in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2016/17 (1-0 A) .
Dinamo record in one UEFA penalty shootout is W0 L1:
5-6 v Sheriff, third round of the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League qualification.

Rosenborg vs Dinamo Zagreb Head-to-head (h2h)

The first leg of the Qualification was their only meeting and ended in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

Rosenborg vs Dinamo Zagreb Prediction

Even though the hosts had more goal attempts in the last match, the visitors defeated them in a shot on goal statistics. The home side had 16 attempts that were more than one visitor, while the visitors had five shots on goal against four of the opponents.

Because the home court is a hunting favorite for the home team, we can expect early goals. The visitors aren't bad at finding the back of the net in away games. Therefore we can expect both teams to score in ninety minutes.

There will be a draw at the end of the match, or visitors will pocket a second win against the host and advance to the next round of the tournament.
