TEAM NEWS
JAMAICA
Jamaica drew with El Salvador in their final group match at the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup which was enough to get out of competitive Group C and they now face Panama in the quarter-finals.
The deadlock against El Salvador was Jamaica's second draw in the group stage and the results made a victory over Honduras which proved a very important result.
Jamaica seems unable to determine their best team and although most of their teams are guaranteed to get their place in the team, there are several positions to be contested in midfield.
PANAMA
Panama could not get the best from the United States in their determination in Group D because America claimed a narrow victory to ensure they topped the group and sent Panama to second place.
In a tightly-fought match, Panama offered a lot but fell to a solitary goal in the second half but their performance against one of the strongest teams in the tournament would give them a lot of confidence to advance.
Panama made major changes to the match with the United States as they searched for their strongest line-up and with the competition now reaching the knockout stage, they will go with what they consider to be their best team here.
Head-to-head
This will be match No. 15 between the two countries with Panama currently enjoy a 6-2-6 advantage (18 goals). Jamaica and Panama divided the last two meetings during qualifications for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Overall Jamaica 34-35-33 against CONCACAF Central America members, while Panama 43-20-21 against members of CONCACAF Island. This match will be very competitive.
Jamaica vs Panama Prediction
Panama is likely to win against Jamaica when the team clashes with each other on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Apart from a thin defeat in the hands of the US, Panama recorded a convincing victory, with a goal difference of two goals, in each group stage match against Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago
Julio Dely Valdes's men have found the back of the net six times in their last three matches and only conceded half of what they have scored.
Their colleagues, on the other hand, marched into the quarter-finals with only one victory in hand, after drawing on all other occasions. Victory against members of the Honduran group is certainly not easy, with the match ending with a tight score 3-2 at the end of ninety minutes.
We certainly can bet on the side of Theodore Whitmore to be the one to advance to the semi-finals, while clashes are unlikely to produce more than three goals at the most.
