Dundee United vs Hibernian : Line-ups, preview & prediction Scottish Championship 2nd December 2016

Reason For Dundee United vs Hibernian Betting Tips

The Scottish Championship is looking like a two horse race at the moment with both Dundee United and Hibernian in excellent form and looking for a return to the top flight.

Dundee United’s impressive seven match winning streak came to an end last weekend as they battled to a goalless draw at the surprisingly good Greenock Morton. They remain unbeaten since the middle of September though, which is a welcome run of good form after a shocking top flight season last term and a dodgy start to the Championship campaign.

This poor start has them struggling to keep pace with Hibernian at the top of the table, but after this run of form they are just three points adrift of them and have a five point lead on Greenock Morton below them.

Hibernian are hoping that this is finally their year. They have come close to promotion for the last two seasons but missed out, but last season saw them end their Scottish FA Cup curse and they will be hoping to do the same in the Championship this season.

They thrashed Queen of the South 4-0 on Saturday to make if four wins and one draw in their last five matches. Away from home their form record looks even better with six wins and two draws since the start of the domestic season, and they even managed to beat Brondby 1-0 away from home in the Europa League before going out on penalties. Dundee United are unbeaten at home this season though and have only failed to win twice, so Friday will be a tough test for the visitors.

In terms of individuals to look out for Dundee United will be looking towards Tony Andreu as the French attacker looks for his 7th league goal of the season. Hibernian have star striker Jason Cummings though, with him netting eight league goals in 12 appearances and scoring five of those away from home. He looks the best option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

However, we’re not expecting this to be a high scoring match. Hibernian have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight away days and will be trying to avoid defeat in order to maintain their three point lead. Dundee United haven’t been bad at the back either, so backing Under 2.5 Goals at 1/1 looks a good choice. I’m going for a 1-1 correct score predictions at 11/2 as well.

Head To Head

Recent history between these sides has been very evenly matched, with four draws and one win apiece making up the last six encounters.
