Reason For Betting Tips
PEC Zwolle’s 8th placed finish in the 2015/2016 season is all but a distant memory after their awful start to the new Eredivisie campaign. Zwolle have taken just two points from their seven fixtures so far (D2 L5), drawing against fellow relegation strugglers NEC and Utrecht, and come into this off the back of an demoralising 5-1 defeat away to Ajax last weekend. Consequently, the hosts are rock bottom of the Eredivisie and four points shy of relegation safety. Their 4-1 win away to Dutch third tier side DSV ’33 in the first round of the Dutch League Cup (KNVB Cup) last Wednesday is about the only positive the hosts can take away from their season so far.
Meanwhile, despite ADO Den Haag’s recent slump in form which has seen them drop to 10th overall in the Eredivisie, they have had an otherwise impressive start to the season. Den Haag took three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures, a streak which extended their (then) unbeaten run to fourteen consecutive fixtures since April (6 Eredivisie and 8 club friendlies). It took league leaders Feyenoord to break their run on matchday 5, with this 3-1 defeat being the first of a three match Eredivisie losing streak against the inform Twente (4-1 loss away) and Heerenveen (3-0 loss at home). No doubt this has taken a small knock on their confidence.
Somewhow, the out-of-form PEC Zwolle are slight favourites for the bookies ahead of this match at 11/8. Even though ADO Den Haag come into this without a win in five (four Eredvisie and one KNVB Cup), it must be noted that this was over a series of difficult fixtures and their price of 15/8 simply has to be the better value here. No performance from PEC sees us find any justification in the home side here and their recent records against ADO Den Haag, who have won just one of the last nine meetings between the two sides, shouldn’t have much influence in this meeting considering PEC’s dire form. Nonetheless, this match always proves an entertaining affair for the neutral fan so expect an exciting match. Over 2.5 goals or both teams to score are also both decent bets here, however, they’re just a bit short for our liking at 7/10 and 4/7 respectively.
PEC are the perfect opponents for the unconfident ADO Den Haag to put themselves back on track and, as such, ADO Den Haag to win at 15/8 and ADO Den Haag to win 2-1 at 10/1 are our choice bets for this match.
Head To Head
PEC Zwolle won 2-0 away to ADO Den Haag when the two sides last met in February earlier this year. Over all 24 meetings between the two sides, PEC Zwolle have won 13, drawn 6 and lost 5 against ADO.
Stats
Both teams have scored in all but one of the last thirteen meetings between the two sides. PEC Zwolle have taken just one point from their last four Eredvisie matches at home (D1 L3). ADO Den Haag have won half of their Eredivisie matches on the road this season (W2 L2).
Team News
PEC Zwolle have a few notable injuries heading into this: Stef Nijland (centre forward) and defensive midfielder Rick Dekker are both out for this match.
ADO Den Haag also have a pair of injuries to consider: wing-backs Aaron Meijers, who was substituted off in the 20th minute last time out with a knee injury, and Dion Malone are doubtful ahead of this.
