Brighton vs Huddersfield
England – League Championship
Date: Tuesday, 14 September 2016,
Kick-Off: 01:45 GMT+7
Venue: Falmer Stadium (Brighton).

Brighton & Hove Albion will this Tuesday welcome the visit of Huddersfield Town to the AMEX Stadium, with the hosts backed to end their opponents glorious start to the season.

A home win for an out-of-soughts Brighton is tipped at 17/20 with bet365, while an away win for Huddersfield is 16/5. A draw between the two teams is 5/2.

Brighton’s start to the season has been far from what many expected, with Chris Hughton’s side winning just three of their opening six games. Even more worryingly than that statistic is the fact that Brighton have lost their last two games on the bounce, with last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Brentford following up on a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle. The net result of Brighton’s mini-crisis is 13th in the table, and eight points adrift of the top of the league. That said, Brighton certainly have the team to turn things around, with a mix of experience and youth giving them a strong blend of talent in each third of the pitch. An example of that blend is the partnership between Sam Baldock and Glenn Murray. 27-year-old Baldock has scored once this season and will again line up alongside Murray on Tuesday, with the 32-year-old hunting down a fourth goal of the campaign.

Huddersfield on the other hand have enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, with David Wagner’s side storming to five wins from six en route to first in the Championship standings. Such is Huddersfield’s early-season success that they have double the points of Brighton, something they’ll be eager to extend this Tuesday. Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy came up with the winning goal during Huddersfield’s last game against Leeds at the weekend, and the player will again pose both a threat to Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale and support to lead striker Nahki Wells. Wells has scored just once this year and not at all in his last four games, however should lead the line for the visitors once again this week.

Tip

Brighton should have too much for Huddersfield this week. Back a reaction from Hughton’s side and a 2-1 home win at 15/2 with bet365.

A safer bet lies with Brighton to win by one goal at 5/2.
Brighton vs Huddersfield: Head-to-Head

Brighton and Huddersfield have met on 8 occasions since they got promoted together to Championship in 2011. Brighton have won in three during the period with five matches seeing draws.

The corresponding fixture of last season end in a 2-1 win for Brighton. Also the last 12 home matches of Brighton saw 7 draws and 2 wins, while Huddersfield won in 2.
Brighton vs Huddersfield: Prediction

Brighton and Hove Albion were one of the teams with a strong home record in the Championship last season. Starting from the beginning of 2015/16 season, they are unbeaten in 22 of their 26 home matches. They will fired up due to the unexpected home defeat against Brentford in the weekend.

At the same time, Huddersfield have made an excellent start to their season and they will be high on confidence. So a draw is very much on the cards here, also considering the fact that 5 of their last 8 meetings end up in same.

On the back of home advantage and the 8 match unbeaten run over Huddersfield, a double chance for Brighton to win or draw would be a perfect bet for this game.
