Reason For Betting Tips
Things are looking considerably rosier for Blackburn now than they were a fortnight ago. Back-to-back Championship wins have eased the pressure on new boss Owen Coyle and suddenly there is even a degree of optimism around Ewood. They won 4-2 at home to Rotherham in their last home game and backed that up by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Derby on Saturday, thanks to two goals in three 2nd half minutes. Going forward they look a real threat, with some of the new signings really stepping up, in particular Marvin Emnes, who has scored in Blackburn’s last 3 league games. However, defensively they are still leaking goals and are yet to record a clean sheet this term.
Wednesday have a similar problem right now and have gone 7 games without a clean sheet. Their form since the international break has been good though, with 3 wins from 4 league games and they have been involved in some real crackers. The team that has scored first has gone on to lose all of their last 4 league games. The latest of which was on Saturday when Wednesday fell behind in the 1st Half at home to Nottingham Forest but came roaring back to win 2-1, thanks to another dramatic late winner from Kieran Lee. The midfielder has scored decisive goals in the 96th and 91st minute of Wednesday’s last two home games.
On the road though, they are still very unconvincing. They are yet to win away this season and it’s 9 away Championship games without a victory for the Owls now overall. They’ve lost 5 of those matches and for a side with promotion hopes that really isn’t good enough, as it puts real pressure on them to consistently win at home.
Given Wednesday’s struggles away and the fact Blackburn look to have turned a corner and will approach this game with some real confidence, backing Double Chance – Blackburn or Draw at 3/4 looks to offer real value here.
Head To Head
Wednesday are unbeaten on their last 3 visits to Blackburn but have only recorded 1 win in their last 6 matches at Ewood.
Stats
Both teams have scored in 7 of Sheffield Wednesday's last 9 away league games. They haven't won any of them. Both teams have scored in 75% of Blackburn matches so far this season in all competitions.
Team News
Danny Graham may be recalled up front following his winner at Derby. Charlie Mulgrew, Elliott Ward and Adam Henley are all still out and new signing Wes Brown looks set to be on the bench.
Wednesday have concerns over midfielder Barry Bannan and defender Tom Lees after the pair picked up knocks at the weekend. Left-back Daniel Pudil is also a doubt while Lucas Joao is definitely still out.
