Leganes vs Sevilla
Spanish La Liga
Date: Saturday, 15th October 2016,
Kick-Off at 12:00 UK
Venue: Estadio Municipal de Butarque, Leganes.
Sevilla come here still searching for that elusive away win. They haven’t won away in La Liga in 22 attempts now since a 3-2 win at Malaga in May 2015. They have far too good a side for that record to continue much longer and this match provides them with a good chance of picking up maximum points on the road.
They’ve made a good start to the season overall though, impressing in the Champions League while they are 3rd in La Liga behind the Madrid clubs but ahead of Barcelona. They have had to rely on some late goals to get them home though and that was the case again last time out when they scored in stoppage time to beat Alaves 2-1 in Andalusia. Jorge Sampaoli has tended to rotate his side ahead of Champions League matches and that may be the case again here ahead of a trip to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, but they do have strength in depth and whatever side they put out ought to cause Leganes problems.
The Madrid minnows have adapted well to their first ever top flight campaign though so this won’t be easy. 10 points from 7 games is a very solid return from them, although interestingly 9 of those points have come away from home, including a 1-0 win at Granada last time out. They were dealt a very tough set of opening fixtures at home though with Barcelona and Valencia having already won at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque while Atleti had to settle for a point.
Leganes have been pretty positive given their inexperience at this level and generally it has paid off. Both teams have scored in 4 of their last 5 matches in La Liga and the same is true of Sevilla who will certainly set out to try and win this one, so backing Both Teams to Score at 10/11 looks to offer value here.

Leganes vs Sevilla: Prediction
The overall away form of Sevilla is the key factor to our analysis for this match, while keeping an eye on Leganes’ overall performance in the league this season. With Leganes being a newly promoted side, their mini success at the start of the season could give them a lot of confidence. They have already held a strong Atletico Madrid to a goal-less draw at the start of the season.
While Sevilla’s win-less run away from home has now stretched to 22 La Liga games. Their confidence will be a problem when coming up against a relatively unknown entity like Leganes. Also, they have a lot of injury concerns with at least five players missing through injuries and suspension. We believe the hosts are in a good position to earn at least a draw from this game.
