Bayern have beaten Arsenal 5-1 the last three times they have faced each other – all in the Champions League.
Wenger’s side got their pre-season tour underway in Australia on Thursday with a 2-0 victory over Sydney FC, with goals from skipper Per Mertesacker and new signing Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman grabbed a late goal on his debut following his £52.6million club-record move from Lyon.
That win was followed up on Saturday as Oliver Giroud reminded Wenger of his goal-scorong threat in the 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers. Aaron Ramsay and Mo Elneny also scored but this time Lacazette failed to find the net.
As Arsenal prepare for the friendly in the sweltering humidity of Shanghai, they have been bracing themselves for an approach from Paris Saint-Germain over Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean striker shocked Gunners fans at the weekend when he said: “The idea is to play and win the Champions League. I’ve dreamt about it since I was a kid.”
Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Head-to-head
Bayern blew away Arsenal when the teams met at the Champions League last seasons. The Gunners conceded 10 goals over the two legs, which will go down as one of the most humiliating defeat in their history. Moreover, Arsenal became Bayern’s bunnies after losing the last three matches by the same 5-1 margin.
Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Prediction
