Olympiakos vs Young Boys : Line-ups, preview & prediction UEFA Europa League 24th November 2016.

Olympiakos are on the verge of qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League. With two games remaining they sit in 2nd position, three points clear of Young Boys in 3rd and knowing that a win would seal qualification on Thursday.

The hosts are in very good form as well. Their 3-0 win over Panathinaikos on Sunday made it seven wins and one draw since their last defeat, with that draw being a disappointing 1-1 at bottom of the group Astana.

As far as individual performances go it’s been attacking midfielder Seba who’s wowed the fans in the Europa League. He has bagged four goals in the competition and one in the league to make him the second highest scorer in the team behind Brown Ideye’s seven league goals. Backing him to score anytime at 12/5 looks a very good option for the anytime goalscorer predictions.

Young Boys have had a bit of a strange season. They went on a bizarre five match drawing streak back in September and October but came out of it with five straight victories. A 1-0 loss to APOEL ended this unbeaten streak and they have followed that with a 2-2 draw at Luzern and a 4-3 win over Sion at the weekend.

This leaves them in 2nd position in the Swiss Super League, but they’re a huge 15 points adrift of Basel at the top of the table. They are also 3rd in the Europa League group, but if they lose this match they would be out of the competition.

The visitors getting the win here seems very unlikely. Away from home they have won just one of their last nine outings, and that was against lower league opposition all the way back in September. Since then they have drawn five and lost one of their matches.

Five of these six away days have resulted in Young Boys failing to find the net, whilst Olympiakos have only seen both teams score in three of their last ten outings. This makes odds of 19/20 for Both Teams Not to Score a good value bet, and I’m backing that alongside a 2-0 win for Olympiakos at 13/2 for my correct score predictions.

Head To Head

Olympiakos won the only previous meeting with Young Boys 1-0 in September.

Olympiakos vs Young Boys Stats

Both teams have scored in just 30% of Olympiakos' last ten matches and in just 17% of Young Boys last six on the road.
