While Hungary put on an unexpectedly good display at Euro 2016, they would have perhaps hoped for more heading into the World Cup qualifiers. They are still in touching distance, but will have to secure a win, with a couple extra goals, against struggling Andorra.
Group B is currently being dominated by Portugal and Switzerland, however, it is not the Euro Champs who find themselves at the top, rather Switzerland who have three wins from three. Waiting below them is Hungary, who have only picked up a win and a draw, the same as the Faroe Islands on the same amount of points, so Hungry know a win is non-negotiable. They have only beaten Latvia so far, and drawn to Faroe Islands in a dull 0-0 affair, and their loss to group leaders Switzerland was frustrating as it ended 3-2.
For Andorra, this campaign has been a real wakeup call, currently they sit with three losses from three, and have averages conceding three goals a game – scoring only one. It started reasonably enough with a fine 1-0 loss to Latvia, but then Portugal ripped into them 6-0, and finally they lost another close one against Switzerland 2-1. They will definitely be targeted for points, but besides the Portugal game, things were tight.

The two teams have only played twice in the past during Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The two games were won hugely by Hungary and they also kept clean sheets in both games. Hungary defeated Andorra 0-5 away and 2-0 at home. They will hope to continue the winning streak in this game.

Hungary should have no problem beating Andorra and we expect them to get a goal frenzy in this one. Though Hungary’s attack is no more as good as it was before, with most of their great players retired, this game presents a good chance for them to improve their goal difference.
The Andorran team will try not to concede much, but getting a draw will be a huge milestone for them.
