Reason For Motherwell vs Inverness CT Betting Tips
Motherwell seem to have reverted back to their old problems that saw them finish in the Scottish Premiership relegation playoff position a couple of seasons ago, and if they don’t pick the pace up soon they may find themselves struggling again.
Their 2-0 loss to Celtic last weekend was an expected defeat, but it made it five losses, three draws, and just one win in their last nine matches in all competitions. This has seen them eliminated from the League Cup and drop down to 9th in the Premiership table.
Motherwell’s problems don’t come from any particular area, which makes it more of a team-wide issue. Defensively they are a bit worse off than most of the Premiership, but not significantly and their attacking record is around average for the league. The goals just seem to come in the wrong places and at the wrong times for them.
At home they have scored six goals in their four games and conceded seven, winning just one of them and losing twice. Most of their goals have come courtesy of star striker Louis Moult, who has netted four of his five league goals at Fir Park this season. Considering Motherwell have scored in three of their four home matches this season, backing him to find the net could be a good option.
Inverness CT have a real problem finding the back of the net on the road as well. They have scored just three goals in their five away days in all competitions since the Premiership season began, and none of their players have scored more than once away from home.
This has resulted in them not winning a single game, although they have managed 1-1 draws against Aberdeen and Hamilton Academical in their last two matches away from home.
This will come as good news to the Motherwell defenders, who have struggled at times this season. They will feel that they can effectively limit the out of form Inverness CT attack though. Four of the visitors last five away games have ended with fewer than three goals scored, with only their 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Hearts breaking up their low scoring record. I can’t see a repeat of that against this Motherwell attack, so backing Under 2.5 Goals at 1/1 looks a good option. I’m going for a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1 as well.
