Latvia vs Hungary
European Qualifiers – 2018 World Cup
Date: Monday, 10th October 2016
Kick-off at 19:45 UK
Venue: Stadions Skonto, Riga.
Third round of the European qualifications for the World Cup 2018 in Russia will be played on Monday evening as well. The second game from the Group B that will be played on Monday evening is the game between Latvia and Hungary. Both teams will be looking for three points in order to keep them close to the leaders of the group.
Latvia seems to be in a very good form because they have won in four out of their last five games in different competitions. In those six games, they did not lose any matches (one draw against Estonia). Hungary, on the other hand, has only one victory in the last five games they played (against Austria) and one defeat (against Belgium). In the last five games at home, Latvia had three consecutive defeats and after that they managed to win in two consecutive games. Hungary’s away record, on the other, is all over the place with two victories, two defeats and two draw results in the last six games. The players from the both teams seem to be a very good form because both teams have score in the last five games they played.
In their previous five head – to – head matches, Latvia won in one game and Hungary won on other four occasions. Considering the current form in which these two teams are playing it might be hard to pick who has more chances for the victory. It seems that this game will be the game in which there would not be a lot of goals.

Latvia vs Hungary: Prediction
Lativia’s recent performances are a big let-down and they have already struggled against two lowest ranked team in the current qualifiers. Their win against Andorra is their only win in the last 7 qualification fixtures. Moreover, they often struggle against higher ranked teams irrespective of the playing venue. Hungary have shown signs of brilliance and individual quality in the 3-2 loss against Switzerland. And they are a team in desperate need of a win and we believe they will deliver the three points this time.
Also, three of the four meetings between Latvia and Hungary have seen over 2.5 goals. So there is a good chance for this fixture to see 3 or more goals.
