Real Madrid is sitting on top of the current league table as they had been undefeated in the first six rounds of competitions. Two opponents were able to hold them to draws, however, but they have yet to surrender a match this term.
One of those draws was against surprise contenders Las Palmas, 2-2, on the road last Saturday at the Estadio Gran Canaria, the Mirror reported.
Winger Marco Asensio, who was regularly placed by head coach Zinedine Zidane as part of his front three when Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were injured earlier this season, started at the back three of Zidane's 4-3-3 formation.
The move paid dividends as the Spaniard netted the opening goal of the match at the 33rd minute. However, the score was immediately leveled by the hosts as midfielder Tana found the equalizer at the 38th to force Real in a 1-1 tie at the break.
With center-forward Alvaro Morata seemingly off-form, Zidane subbed him with Benzema at the 64th. Again, the move proved to be a good one as the French striker scored Los Blancos' second goal just three minutes in for a 2-1 advantage.
Real looked headed to another win, but Argentine forward Sergio Araujo was able to level the count once again at the 85th, handing the reigning Champions League titlists their second straight drawn game.
Meanwhile, Eibar blanked 10-man Real Sociedad, 2-0, at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium also last Saturday, as per ESPN.
An own goal by Txuriurdin midfielder Asier Illarramendi started the scoring at the 57th before Portuguese striker Bebe sealed the win at the 66th.
It was a bounce back win for Los Armeros after going on a two-game winless spell. They are at the eighth spot of the league table at the moment.
