AC Milan vs Lazio Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews Italian Serie A

AC Milan vs Lazio
 Italian Serie A.
Date: Tuesday, 21 September 2016
Kick-Off: 01:45 GMT+7
Venue: Stadio San Siro (Milan).

AC Milan

AC Milan returned to winning ways at the weekend seeing off Sampdoria (0-1) away from home. The win ends a 2 game losing streak to lift Milan up into 6th position in Serie A.
Milan's home and away form sums them up as a side, unpredictable. Both records are played 2 with a win and a loss in each. Milan haven't lost to Lazio at home since 1989 and they will be hoping to kick on from Friday's win.

As mentioned above Milan have a 1-0-1 home record with a defeat of Torino (3-2) followed by a loss to Udinese (0-1). This is the only time that they have failed to score this season and Friday's clean sheet is their first of the season too.

Lazio

Lazio occupy 4th position following their 3-0 win over Pescara on Saturday. With 2 wins from 4 and just a single defeat to champions Juventus, the visitors will fancy themselves to leave the San Siro with at least a point on Tuesday evening.
The 4-3 win at Atalanta was followed up by a 1-1 draw at Chievo meaning Lazio are unbeaten on their travels this season. Interestingly both sides have scored in both their away games and both sides have not in both home games.

Lazio failed to beat Milan last year and have a poor record away in Serie A against the stronger sides. They lost to the top 3 away and 4 of their matches at the top 6. Interestingly they only had 1 draw away at the top 10 and that was at Milan.

Betting Verdict

I like the draw in this game, Lazio may not have beaten Milan since the 1980's in the San Siro but
they have drawn 5 of their last 7 here.

The hosts haven't played in a draw yet this season but Torino missed a last minute penalty against them and Sampdoria held out until the 85th minute on Friday.
Lazio won't find Milan as easy as Pescara and I think they will be happy with a point here. Milan kept their first clean sheet on Friday but against a free scoring Lazio I don't expect another.

Despite the history being in favour of the hosts I think Lazio have enough to leave with a point.

AC Milan vs Lazio: Head-to-head statistics

AC Milan have lost only one out of their last 16 fixtures at home against Lazio.
The Biancocelesti, however, beat them in the Coppa Italia at the San Siro back in February 2015.
The Rossoneri have won nine, drawn eight, and lost three of their past 20 home games against teams ranked higher than them in the table.
Lazio, meanwhile, have won three, drawn three, and lost 14 out of their last 20 away games against teams ranked lower than them in the table.
The last time this fixture finished scoreless was in February 2011.
In Serie A, Milan’s last loss to Lazio was in January 2015
AC Milan vs Lazio: Prediction

Although Milan have the historical advantage in this fixture, the Rossoneri have only won once at home since February. By contrast, Lazio have only lost twice on the road since November and as noted before, they finally picked up a win at the Stadio San Siro in Coppa Italia action in February 2015. That ended as a 1-0 result and also was the last time both sides did not manage to score.

With that in mind, neither side are expected to keep a clean sheet in this fixture. Last season, Lazio won one and drew the other of their two Serie A meetings, with the 1-1 stalemate taking place at the Stadio San Siro.

Lazio should have no problems picking up at least a point from this fixture. A repeat of the 1-1 result from last season is certainly not an unrealistic result for this match.
AC Milan vs Lazio: Betting tips
