Watford vs Swansea
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 15th April 2017
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Vicarage Road Stadium.
Watford suffered a heavy defeat at White Hart Lane last weekend, a predictable result given Spurs’s exceptional home form recently, but they remain in the top half of the table by a one-point margin – there are four clubs clustered on 36 points immediately below the Hornets. Fortunately, the Swansea side they face have been struggling recently with four defeats in five, and the two teams below them in the drop zone have a game in hand over them.
Watford have been strong against lower-placed teams at home this season: they’ve gone W2-D4-L0 at Vicarage Road against bottom-seven teams, and over the last two seasons home matches against such opposition have tended to be low-scoring (nine of 13 have gone under 2.5 goals). Having lost only one of their last six at home (four of which went under 2.5 goals), they’ll fancy themselves to beat a Swansea side that has lost five straight away games, failing to score in the two most recent games in this run. They’ve won just two in their last 15 on the road, and with midfielder Jack Cork a doubt it’s hard to see the visitors coming home with much to show for their efforts.
All in all, Watford’s recent home wins against Sunderland and West Brom suggest they’re more than capable of taking on a Swansea side in poor form. It should be a low-scoring game, though: Watford and Under 2.5 is our best bet.
Watford
The back-to-back victories over Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion moved Walter Mazzarri’s side far away from the relegation scrap.
The Hornets even have the chance to end the generally quite turbulent season in the top half of the standings.
Watford won’t come in the game in a terrific atmosphere since the last weekend has seen the team suffering a 45-0 disaster to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Swansea City
The defeat to West Ham United at London Stadium was fourth in the last five matches for the only Welsh side in the competition.
Wales could thus easily be without Premier League teams in the next season since the Swans will have one hell of a task to avoid the relegation in the final six games of their campaign.
Watford vs Swansea City: Head to head
Watford lead the head to head tie by a single win, but making the difference was a very difficult task for each of the sides in their most recent meetings.
It is important to note that eight of the last nine matches between the two teams ended in Under 2.5 goals including a goalless draw from Liberty Stadium back in October last year.
Watford vs Swansea City: Prediction
We definitely don’t expect to see a goal fest this time either. The Swans will have to be super careful and sit tight at the back because Watford will know how to punish possible mistakes.
The Hornets are also very tough to break down at Vicarage Road and we simply have to back the Under 2.5 goals as the top betting pick here.
Tottenham Hotspur vs AFC Bournemouth: Bet Tips
The number one bet will be Under 2.5 goals at the odds of 7/10.
You can alternatively try with Watford to win at 7/5.
