In our Poland v Denmark Betting Preview we look at the best possible betting tips between the two sides.

On Saturday evening this weekend in Group E of the World Cup Qualifiers stages we see Åge Hareide take his Denmark side on the trip to the National Stadium in Warsaw to face Adam Nawałka’s Poland side. These two teams have been drawn into Group E along with Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Romania and Armenia. This one will be a tightly contested match but we think Poland might just edge it with the home advantage.

The home side Poland head into the visit of Denmark hoping that they can pick up their first win of the group stage from this fixture. In the qualifying stages for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil they were placed into a group alongside England, Ukraine, Montenegro, Moldova and San Marino. They had a fairly disappointing campaign that saw them finish in 4th place in the group and therefore didn’t qualify for the World Cup Finals in Brazil. They ended up on 13 points from their 10 fixtures, with 3 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats. Their best performance of the group stage was probably their 1-1 draw at home to England when Kamil Glik equalised in the 70th minute. However one result that they will have been disappointed with was when they were held 1-1 at home to Montenegro.

The most recent tournament that they featured in was Euro 2016 in France. They were placed into Group C along with Germany, Northern Ireland and Ukraine. Firstly they came up against Northern Ireland who they beat 1-0 thanks to a Milik goal 6 minutes into the second. Their second fixture was against the power houses of the group Germany, who they managed to hold to a goalless draw with a fantastic defensive display. Then their final group stage match was against Ukraine who they beat 1-0 thanks to a Błaszczykowski goal. This sent them into the round of 16 where they beat Switzerland on penalties after the sides were held 1-1 in normal time curtesy of another Błaszczykowski strike. In the quarter-finals they came up against the eventual champions of the tournament Portugal who they held to a 1-1 draw in normal with Lewandowski getting their goal, but were knocked out on penalties.

Their most recent match was at the beginning of September when they travelled to the Astana Arena to face Talgat Baysufinov’s Kazakhstan side in their opening group stage game. It was the dream first half for the visitors Poland when they were ahead after just 9 minutes thanks to Bartosz Kapustka who was left with a simple finish when he was found at the back post with a low cross. They doubled their lead 10 minutes before the break from the spot when Lewandowski was tripped in the box and then converted the penalty. However the home side came out the blocks all guns blazing in the second half and Sergey Khizhnichenko scored two goals in 7 minutes to level the scores. The rest of the match was goalless and Poland had to settle for a point.

The away side Denmark go into the trip to Poland hoping that they can get their second win of the group stage, in which they are top of as they were the only team to win their opening fixture. In the qualifying stages fore the 2014 World Cup in Brazil they were put into a group alongside Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria, Armenia and Malta. They ended up finishing 2nd in the group and were desperately unlucky not to qualify for the World Cup finals. The nine group winners qualified, while the eight best runners-up – ranked according to all their games except for games against the sixth-placed team in their group – entered into the play-offs for the four remaining spots. And Denmark were that unfortunate team that didn’t go through to the play-offs due to having the worst record against the other 4 teams in the top 5 of their group. They also didn’t qualify for Euro 2016 after they were beaten 4-3 in the play off by Sweden.

Their mot recent game was at the beginning of September when they welcomed Varuzhan Sukiasyan’s Armenia side to Telia Parken in Copenhagen in their first group stage fixture. Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen got the only goal of the game with a lovely side footed finish from the edge of the area into the bottom left corner to give Denmark the perfect start to their qualification stage.

Poland vs Denmark: Prediction

Two sides with a lot of quality and flare. Poland lost just one of their last 5 world cup qualifiers games played at home, while the Danish Dynamite lost one of the last 5 World Cup Qualifiers games played away. This makes the game evenly poised with promising end to end and creative action.

Therefore, I will predict a score draw in this encounter.
